Roronoa Zoro is one of the strongest characters inĀ One PieceĀ and one that fans absolutely love to see in combat, largely due to his exciting fighting style.Ā Zoro is the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, and he uses the famed three-sword style, which is unique to him. Over the years, fans have seen Zoro go from a small frog in a well to becoming one of the strongest in the entire world.

That said, Zoro still has higher heights to reach, and he cannot do it without improving his weaponry. On multiple occasions across the story, Zoro has upgraded his swords and received stronger weapons. Zoro only upgrades his blades when one is irreparable or gets taken away from him completely. There are also some blades that are too precious to Zoro for him to give up.

The only blade that Zoro can replace in the story is Sandai Kitetsu. This is a Kitetsu sword that Zoro loves and has fully gained mastery of over the years. But, it must be remembered that Sandai Kitetsu is not on the same rank as the other two swords that Zoro wields.

Both Enma and Wado Ichimonji are of the 21 Great Grade Swords. Meanwhile,Ā Sandai Kitetsu holds the rank of the Grade Swords. As such, Sandai Kitetsu needs to be upgraded.

As such, when these two do clash later on in the story, Zoro has to have a Kitetsu blade at his disposal. Given that Zoro needs to upgrade his Kitetsu blade and hold on to a Kitetsu blade when this battle arrives, the only option is for him to get Nidai Kitetsu.

For those who don’t know, Nidai Kitetsu is currently in Wano Country. It was briefly revealed to the fans in the Wano arc, where Zoro took a keen interest in it. This blade was forged by none other than Kotetsu, the ancestor of Tenguyama Hitetsu, or in other words, Kozuki Sukiyaki. This blade is incredibly powerful and belongs to the same rank as Enma, that is, one of the 21 Great Grade Swords.

If Zoro does get access to it, then all his swords will have the same rank. This would also allow him to take his swords to the highest level. It was also revealed in the Wano arc of One Piece that swords can upgrade in rank if they are blackened.

IfĀ Zoro goes on to blacken all three of his swords, which will inevitably happen in One Piece, then all three of his swords will become Supreme Grade. In other words, the 12 Supreme Grade swords that exist will turn into 15 Supreme Grade swords.

Mihawk is certainly very strongĀ and he wields a very powerful blade. However, ifĀ Zoro has three supreme great swordsĀ at his disposal, then even Mihawk does not stand a chance against him. This would see Zoro fulfilling his dream and finally putting Kuina’s soul to rest.
